Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Japanese. It started on Sunday December,7 1941 at 7:55am.
Each soldier is remembered, but Doris Miller, nickname “Dorie” was a volunteer that did wonderful things. As a steward (What he volunteered for) he would wake up the other officers on the USS West Virginia,do there laundry, shine there shoes, and make there beds. He heared the alarm for the guarter he was in and headed straight for the battle station. Remember he is a volunteer so he would not know how to shot big navy gun, but as the good man he is he grabbed a gun and started to shot the planes. He did not shot one but he sure did try, after that he was ordered to go rescue the men from the other side of the boat and that he did. He saved other hero Captain, Mervyn Bennion (sadly later capt. Bennion would die from his wounds). Doris Miller was presented the Navy Cross for his bravery.
A day such as Dec,7 1941 Japanese planes started to bomb Pearl Harbor which put America in World War ll (<-2).
Radars in the 1941 as in when the Pearl Harbor attack happened it didn’t tell you about what it was it would just show little squares so they did not know what the the Japanese was coming.
Looks like the Japanese where cowards to not have a fair fight? They came without warning they could have shot a small bomb to tell them they where coming, it’s not polite to barg in like that. They new that they would to sleep in on a sunday
