Most people in the world have at least one family member that doesn’t live near them, so they text/email them every once in a while but did you know that it might not be read the same way you typed it? Although they bear some similarities the difference between talking in person and communicating with technology are clear.

Here are some simple similarities between communicating in person rather than communicating with technology. You can express your feelings in texting almost as well as you can in real life. like saying “I love you” in real life your mom will still think you love her if you text it to her, or saying “good night sleep well” the person you are sending it to will still be happy you said that through text or in real life. You can misunderstand anyone by saying the wrong words. for example if you say “ugghh, I don’t care” they might think you don’t care about what they have to say. And if you text ” so I’m going to Sweden tomorrow” they might think you are asking them to come with you and you will have the awkward conversation of telling them no. those were a few similarities about communicating in real life than on your phone.

Here are some easy differences between communicating in person and technology. Sadly with technology there are still ways you can bully, but the bullying is mentally rather than in real life it is physical and mentally. It’s harder to block someone in real life than it is on your phone, because you see them every day in real life. Also you can save the evidence on your phone or screen capture, rather than in real life you can be bullied for years but no one believes you because you don’t have evidence. When you talk to someone facial expressions and hand gestures really help your conversation be

interesting. So if you say “i love watermelon” the person your texting it to might not realize how much you love it. Rather than in person you can be going through the lunch line and see watermelon and jump up and down and saying, ” I LOVE WATERMELON” they will get how much you love it. That was only a few easy ways I could have explained this.

Although they did bear a few similarities the difference between communicating in person and communicating with technology are clear. In my opinion, it’s easy to text someone but you establish a better connection, and relationship when you are talking in person. The best way to end this is by saying both ways are equally used in everyday life.
